Classroom Etiquette
Arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of class
Make sure you are wearing proper dress code
Keep noise level at a minimum
Remove all “garbage” at the start of class
Pick up combinations as quickly as possible, but ask if you need it to be repeated
Physicalize corrections that are being given to you directly or to the group
Absolutely no use of phones during class
No gum or food in class
Pay attention to all the corrections given, even if not directed at you.
Respect reminders from peers
Aim to refrain from using the restroom except between barre and center
At the end of class, always clap and thank your instructor.
Remember to take any of your belongings with you at the end of class.
Leave studios, bathrooms, and waiting areas cleaner than you found them.
Rehearsal Etiquette
Rehearsals need to begin on time. Please be dressed properly and ready to dance at start of rehearsal.
Review all notes, and material from previous rehearsal before you begin
Keep noise level at a minimum, especially if waiting on the sides
Pay attention to all the notes given in rehearsal and to the overall picture.
All dancers learning roles for the first time/understudying should be on their feet actively learning throughout rehearsal.
Respect what the choreographer is asking of you, and approach rehearsal with an open mind
Phones, iPads and other electronic devices are not permitted at any time during rehearsal.
Help one another to succeed.
Respect reminders from peers and be respectful if giving them.
Food should be eaten on breaks, if you must eat during rehearsal in the studio, please use discretion and be mindful of others.
Take care of and return props, CD’s, DVD’s and equipment as soon as you are finished with them.
Be sure to take all of your belongings with you at the end of rehearsal.
The studio should be left as clean as you found it.
